OWEN
Diep Organics Produce Supplier
Owen started farming years ago to fill a gap in the organic produce supply in Diepsloot. When Owen first started farming he struggled to find a market to sell his produce. His costs were higher than commercial farmers. Now he doesn’t plant anything unless he knows there is someone to buy it. Pauli’s is one of his largest purchasers. Using extra space in his garden beds, Owen interplants highly nutritious vegetables that he donates to early childhood development centers to help eradicate childhood malnutrition in South Africa.

GOODINGS GROVE
Olive Oil Supplier
Malcom owns a small olive farm near Cape Town called Goodings Grove. He is a passionate olive grower and truly believes in the future of olives in South Africa. Currently South Africa imports olives, but has the capacity to grow its national production. Each year he harvests his olives and presses them for oil. All the trees are cared for with love and the farm is completely organic. Pauli’s buys all of their olive oil from Malcom.

KHULA AGRI
After identifying how often farmers would be taken advantage of at the Johannesburg produce market Khula Agri created a platform to connect farmers and businesses trying to buy local fresh produce. The app helps ensure farmers get the best price for their produce. It also provides basic inventory and forecasting tools for local farmers. Pauli’s has used the platform in order to connect with local emerging farmers and to find the freshest produce for their sauces while paying a fair price to support local and emerging farmers.
